Grammy award winner Lauren Daigle and Ellie Holcomb are reminding fans that no matter what they’re going through, God is on their side.

The duo recently teamed up to perform Daigle’s hit song, “Be Okay.” The lyrics echo Psalm 121:

Lift your eyes to the hills
Remember where your help comes from
Lift your eyes to the hills
You’ll never face a valley alone
‘Cause even when your heart is breakin’
And you’ve gone and lost your way
You’re, you’re gonna be okay

Daigle posted a video of her and Holcomb in the studio recording the song.

“Some of my favorite moments of creating are moments that are never seen or celebrated,” she wrote. “It’s where the beauty lies – constructing, contorting, conspiring, creating, collaborating- learning where to lean in and where to have restraint. My time with @ellieholcomb was nothing short of inspirational. Made me see the beauty of two by two in a whole new way. ♥️”

This isn’t the first time the friends have collaborated. Holcomb opened for Daigle on her Kaleidoscope Tour.

“Lauren is a kindred spirit and dear friend, so to get to go on the road together feels like a dream,” Holcomb shared on her social media. “I’ve loved singing with people all over the place, and hearing y’all sing along. I’ve LOVED watching Lauren and her incredible band put on an amazing show in each city, each one special and unique. We are having a blast with her band and crew and my band and crew is incredble [sic] too!

“This week, i’ve had my daughter out on the road with me,” she continued. “She loves Lauren and her music, so we’ve been singing along each night together…Thanks to Lauren and her crew for making us feel so welcome, and thanks to my crew for working so hard to make it possible to play these shows and connect with so many people each night.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Daigle and Holcomb:

However, one of the most popular songs on the album, “Be Okay,” was a direct result of this newfound freedom to describe personal struggles.

“’Be Okay’ is one that is really resonating [with fans]. A lot of people have reached out about that song,” she said. “From what I heard from the management side of things, they check the ratings of which songs are testing the best and things like that and ‘Be Okay’ is one. And I’m so glad because that song, I was able to write that with the beautiful Ellie Holcomb.”

“We were actually in Southern California, outside of Newport, when we wrote this song. On the way flying over, Ellie received an email from a little girl who was going through it. She was in her last years with a terminal illness and it had gotten pretty much the end and she was asking Ellie all these questions about life and death and what does this look like,” Daigle continued.

“And if you’ve never been in that scenario, if you’ve never faced the process of dying, then it’s really questions you can’t answer,” she explained. “Ellie wrote the majority of it… she just said, ‘I just want to let this girl know that when it’s all said and done, everything is going to be OK.’ And that was the origin of how the song started. We were able to send if over to her.”
