A Lego animation depicting the story of Easter has been released, making the Gospel accessible and easy to understand for any age.

“Our goal is to tell the story of Jesus from throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation in Lego stop motion animation. We want to portray Bible stories in a way that is engaging and accessible to a wide audience, and especially the younger generation. We have over 70 stories from throughout the Old and New Testament planned so far, covering as many parts of the Bible as we possibly can in Lego stop motion…” said Josh, a Lego stop motion animator working on the project. “We believe that the Bible should be accessible to everyone, everywhere.”

These high quality animations provide faithful representations of Bible stories that are child-friendly and accessible. The Easter story animation, for example, covers Palm Sunday, The Last Supper, Judas’ betrayal, Peter’s denial of Jesus, the crucifixion and the empty tomb on Sunday.

The project has found strong support, reaching over 37 million people and garnering 78,000 subscribers on YouTube. Some of the stories that the project has already produced include David and Goliath, Jonah and the Whale, The Good Samaritan and the birth of Christ. Meanwhile, the projects next on the slate are the parable of the prodigal son and the story of Ruth.

Recreating Bible stories through Lego animation is one of many ways the people are working to make the Bible more accessible and appealing to a younger audience. “The Action Bible” is another one of these projects which has recently enjoyed newfound popularity after being published 15 years ago.

“The Action Bible” is a comic book-style retelling of the Bible, which has sold over three million copies in the U.S. with an additional 1.1 million sales internationally. It includes 230 Bible stories hand drawn in exciting ways to draw in kids.

“What strikes people that read ‘The Action Bible’ is just the beautiful, full action-packed [presentation] and our illustrations that really bring the story to life,” Brock Eastman, senior director of The Action Bible brand, told CBN. “And we like to think about…bringing the Bible to life in a different way.”

“For this generation, specifically, who is involved with graphic novels, this Bible appeals to them because they like that kind of, ‘Oh, I can see the images of the story moving,’ and there’s a narrative, like a paraphrase narrative of the Bible story that’s easy to understand and sounds like a conversation,” Eastman added.

It is amazing to see how the spreading of the Gospel continues to evolve as the Lord uses new mediums to reach those who seem unreachable. Hopefully the Lego Bible will continue to find traction and be able to continue its goal of sharing the Bible in this fun way.
