Great American Family’s A LITTLE WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS premiered last weekend, and actress Jillian Murray loves the sweet relationships showcased in the movie.

In fact, the friendships on screen between the characters mirror the real-life relationships between the actors, Murray told Movieguide®.

“The second we met, we all like grabbed each other very quickly and got along, and we all have very different personalities,” she said of her costars.

“I have a girl group with all of them in my phone, and we talk all the time. I love the sisters….we’re as close as the movie portrays,” she added.

A LITTLE WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS is a “contemporary retelling of Louisa May Alcott’s 1868 classic, following author Jo March as she returns home to celebrate Christmas with sisters Meg, Beth, and Amy,” per IMDB.

Along with Murray, the movie stars Trevor Donovan, Jen Lilley, Laura Osnes, Jesse Hutch, Julia Reilly and Gladys Knight.

Murray, who plays Jo, explained how knowing about each other’s previous movies helped build connections with one another.

“I think it helps that I’m fans of their work, and we all kind of knew each other through the movie world, so it helped that we kind of had a sense of who each other was prior,” she said.

Murray believes another special aspect of the movie is its focus on family, something many films lack today.

“They don’t make a lot of movies that are focused on the family as much as they are relationships, so to have a focus on the family part…I think that’s so special.”

Movieguide® praised its strong Christian worldview and “positive references to Christianity and the true meaning of Christmas.”

A LITTLE WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS is a joy for fans of the classic novel. It’s faithful to the characters, their passions and personalities, while updating the story. It also sprinkles allusions to Alcott’s work are also sprinkled throughout the story, rewarding fans who keep their eyes peeled. The movie also remains faithful to the book’s Christian content. It also teaches strong messages about the importance of family and contains strong biblical allusions. One character spins a web of lies, but A LITTLE WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS is otherwise free of questionable content.
