Lori Loughlin Makes First Red Carpet Appearance for Charity Benefit

By Movieguide® Contributor

Former WHEN CALLS THE HEART star Lori Loughlin made her first red carpet appearance in three years at the DesignCare 2022 Gala.

The benefit was in honor of the HollyRod Foundation, which serves families who are affected by autism and Parkinson’s disease.

Actress Holly Robinson Peete cofounded the nonprofit organization alongside her husband, former NFL star Rodney Peete.

The appearance was her first since the college admissions scandal broke in 2019, and Loughlin lost her role on the Hallmark staple. However, the actress served her time in prison, in which she worked to deepen her faith, and later appeared on the WCTH spinoff, WHEN HOPE CALLS, on GAC Family.

Movieguide® previously reported on how Loughlin’s faith saw her through her time in prison:

Lori Loughlin is reportedly using her prison sentence to draw closer to the Lord.

The 56-year-old WHEN CALLS THE HEART is almost halfway into her two-month prison sentence for her role in the college admissions scandal. Loughlin arrived at Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, Calif., in late October and hopes for a release the week of Christmas.

According to Us Weekly, Loughlin said her first night in prison was discouraging but soon established a routine that includes prayer.

Us Weekly reported that Loughlin, a mother of two, regularly attends church services at the federal correctional facility.

“Lori has been praying a lot,” Us Weekly’s source said.

Other than a small circle of inmates she calls friends, Loughlin keeps to herself.

Loughlin occasionally makes appearances on her daughter, Olivia Jade’s, Instagram stories.
