Mark Wahlberg says his family is “happy” with their move from Hollywood to Las Vegas.

“Everybody’s adapted nicely,” the actor said of their new home. “The kids are all out at school, and everybody’s happy.”

Wahlberg and wife Rhea Durham have four kids—Ella, 20, Michael, 17, Brendan, 15, and Grace, 13.

He also shared that, with his busy work schedule, he’s “looking forward to getting home and spending some time with the family” during the upcoming holiday season.

Wahlberg spoke further about his decision to move his family in an interview with Fox News, saying, “It’s really giving the kids a chance to thrive.”

“It just has the best of both worlds,” he continued. “I know a lot of people, when they think Las Vegas, they think the Strip. But just about 15, 20 minutes away, there’s a whole lot of other amazing areas that are all about family and community.”

Movieguide® previously reported on the Wahlberg family’s move to Nevada:

Mark Wahlberg is one of the many celebrities choosing to leave Hollywood and raise their families outside of the entertainment capital.

The action star recently revealed that he was selling his Los Angeles home and moving his family to Nevada in pursuit of a “better life.”

“I want to be able to work from home,” Wahlberg shared. “I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting, and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there.

“So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us,” the actor continued.

In addition to this being a good move for his family, Wahlberg also hopes to turn Las Vegas into a movie-making center.

“I moved to Nevada where, after this gubernatorial election, hopefully, it will go to legislation and get a bill passed so we can get a tax credit for the state — build a state-of-the-art studio here and make this Hollywood 2.0,” he said during an appearance on THE TALK.

“I want to be able to work from home,” he explained.

For Walhberg, the move is a “fresh start.”

He and his family “came here to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids, and there’s lots of opportunity here,” PEOPLE reported.
