Matthew McConaughey Hosts Virtual Bingo for Texas Senior Living Facility

Matthew McConaughey hosted a virtual game of Bingo for residents of a senior living facility in Texas on Monday.
Seniors at The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living, in Round Rock, requested the actor join them for a game last fall, since he is a Texas native and all.
To their surprise, McConaughey responded to the request and agreed to join them come spring.
However, the COVID-19 lockdown forced the actor to change his plans.
Since he couldn’t be there in person due to stay at home orders, McConaughey did the best he could and hosted the game of Bingo via video chat.
The award-winning star was joined by his family and called out the numbers for the game, and when a “bingo” was called, the prize was getting to ask McConaughey a question of their choice, reports Fox News.
Molly Davis Nedley, the sales director at the facility, said they aren’t able to interact like normal with the seniors because of the coronavirus, “so we have been doing everything possible to uplift them virtually.”
She continued, “This was a wish come true! The residents absolutely loved seeing Matthew and his family and enjoyed hearing him talk about what he’s doing to get through this crisis. It gave them hope and was the boost that they needed to get through this lonely, challenging time.”
This news comes after McConaughey used Zoom to talk to students in a class at UT Austin’s Journalism program.
The professor took a screenshot and shared it on twitter.
