Maverick City Music Singer Teases Two Unreleased Songs — Check Them Out

Maverick City Music singer Chandler Moore is recalling MCM’s purpose and sharing a couple of his own new songs with fans on YouTube.

“We built MAV to be a place for the misfits. Place for the outcasts. Place for people who wouldn’t have a platform to sing or share the musical gifting to be able to come and jump in no matter lifestyle, no matter what space of life you’re in,” Moore said in a Hope Nation YouTube video July 25.

In the video, Moore drew a piece of paper from a mug that asked what he would sing over his son.

“Oh this is going to make me cry…” he said. “I have four kids, and my baby girl is in the middle. She’s 2, but I have three boys. A song that I would sing over my son, it’s a song called ‘Patient’ that’s coming out on my new album. This sounds a little emotional, though.”

“Good things still take time,” he began to sing.

He continued:

Give yourself a chance to grow / talk to yourself kind don’t be afraid to let them know / go easy on me today I need you to go easy on me / it says you’ve come so far look where you are, look where you are / / now you’ve come so far look where you are / oh you’ve come so far tell me who else would have made it with your story / yeah tell me who else would have came out victorious / there’s always a man behind every superhero / let me be human today / I really need you to go easy.

The other new song he revealed is “Lead Me On,” about surrendering to God’s will and direction.

Its lyrics are:

I’m living breathing proof that things can change that the saving gift of Grace it really stays / with all the twist and turns on my mistakes how I made it over God was the only way / oh I’m not perfect don’t always get it right but I rather walk by faith and not by my foolish sight / so lead me on / lead me on / lead me on / please lead me on / it’s not me I’m leading on / lead me oh oh Jesus keep leading me / cause  I’m no good on my own

Yeah, that song is real life in every way and every day. Ask [the] Holy Spirit to lead you,” Moore told his viewers, “and it’s okay if you don’t know. I don’t think we’re supposed to know and if we did know, you know that’s why the Bible says he uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise.”

Moore knows that God works in “higher” and “deeper” ways that aren’t always revealed to us.

“Lean into the ‘don’t know’ and follow the one who does,” Moore said.

Lately, Moore has been busy with his Lead Me On pop-up experience in Los Angeles, New York City, Dallas and Atlanta.

Ahead of the pop-up concerts, Moore said, “Really freakin excited to let y’all hear this NEW MUSIC that I’ll be performing at my upcoming shows! There are a bunch of reasons why, but my biggest reason is because of how this music has met me in EVERY space of my life. It has met me when I’ve been full of joy and when pain has felt closer than anything else. So I’m hype to see this music meet YOU wherever you are. Whether you’re in a valley season or a mountain top moment — I really believe God will use this album to do what He wants in your heart! LET’S GOOOO – NEW MUSIC COMING!”

Fans of MCM have previously wondered if Moore is still a part of the group since he was absent for a stretch.

Movieguide® reported in May:

Chandler Moore has commented on his absence from Maverick City Music, the worship collective he co-founded in 2019.

“The last five years have been very intense,” Moore said in a recent Instagram video. “This journey has had its ups and downs took. I took some time away to focus on being a better father and husband.

He continued, “If I were to call it an evolution of what people know me as, I feel like I would be cheapening what God has really done in me. I believe the music I’m working on now is really honest, and it’s going to free a lot of people.”

Moore didn’t directly indicate whether he would stick with the band or not. However, the music group has posted a lot of recent content with Moore on social media, so it looks like he’s currently an active member.
