Meta Plans To Share Their AI Tech ‘Accessible To All Businesses’

Meta recently revealed their hopes to share rapidly improving AI technology with millions of businesses across the world.

“It’s evolving multiple times a day,” Clara Shih, head of business AI at Meta, told CNBC of their AI systems.

She explained that Meta’s AI is already being used by over 700 million consumers, but the company plans to expand even further.

“Not every business, especially small businesses, has the ability to hire these large AI teams, and so now we’re building business AIs for these small businesses so that even they can benefit from all of this innovation that’s happening,” Shih said. “We’re quickly coming to a place where every business, from the very large to the very small, they’re going to have a business agent representing it and acting on its behalf, in its voice — the way that businesses today have websites and email addresses.”

In a post for their Business AIs page, Meta wrote, “In the near future, we believe the majority of businesses will have an AI interacting with customers on their behalf.”

“Large companies know this and are investing in complex software and information technology teams to roll out their AI solutions,” they continued. “Our goal at Meta is to make AI accessible to all businesses regardless of size — just like we did for ads…In the future, we expect AIs to work together, defining exciting new digital experiences that will benefit all.”

Shih added, “There isn’t a single job that hasn’t been completely transformed by the internet and by mobile and by social media. I think we’re at the same juncture now with AI, where it’s clear that there are certain professions where AI will significantly change the job.”

“My prediction is that over time, AI will change every job function across every industry,” she concluded.

Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has long been pushing for more widespread use of AI.

In a January earnings call, he said he expects 2025 to “be the year when a highly intelligent and personalized AI assistant reaches more than one billion people, and I expect Meta AI to be that leading AI assistant.”
