Christian artist Michael W. Smith is reminding us that God is with us this Christmas season.
“One of the things I love about Christmas is the reminder that Jesus came close to us,” he said during his CHRISTMAS WITH MICHAEL W. SMITH AND FRIENDS special.
Smith continued, “Scripture prophesied, ‘The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Emmanuel, which means “God with us.”’ God with us in our struggles, in our joys, in our problems, in our pain. God with us through all of it.”
Smith has been sharing his love of Christmas during his annual “Every Christmas” tour. The tour will celebrate its finale with two special Nashville dates.
“The concert event, EVERY CHRISTMAS with Michael W. Smith will take place at Belmont University’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts and will be his only concert that will feature a 50+ piece orchestra, a 150+ voice choir, and special guests throughout the evening,” a press release reads. “Michael will play all of his biggest Christmas hits and traditional favorites in a concert that is only possible in Nashville.”

Smith has also been celebrating Christmas — and the tour — online with his Instagram followers.
“There’s no place like home! (reminds me of a movie)” he wrote under a photo of his family’s Christmas tree. “And it is indeed Christmas time in the Smith house.”
Smith continued, “I can’t thank you all enough who came to the shows in the 23 cities that we were at all around America. Will never forget. And now we are home and preparing for three nights at the Fisher Center starting Thursday night and going through Saturday… Big choir… Big Orchestra. I can’t think of a better way to end than in my hometown. Merry Christmas to all! My heart is full… And grateful!”
