By Allyson Vannatta, Senior Writer

Mark your calendars because Disney’s summer movie nights come to an end in a few short weeks!

Since Fourth of July weekend, Disney+ has been showcasing new family-friendly movies every Friday night.

The streaming platform started off strong with HAMILTON, THE MIGHTY DUCKS, SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY, and recently showcased INCREDIBLES 2, THE PEANUTS MOVIE, ANT-MAN AND THE WASP, and THE GREATEST SHOWMAN.

The upcoming last four weeks of the schedule are sure to bring more families around the TV as well.

This Friday, the live-action BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (2017) hits the streaming service.

Movieguide®’s review states that this re-make of the 1991 movie shows the emotional highs of true love with beautiful songs. However, this version has “inserted some gratuitous, politically correct, homosexual references surrounding the villain’s sidekick. This content doesn’t fit in with the rest of the movie and seems forced.”

Superhero movie FANTASTIC FOUR (2005) comes the following week, “What parents should be concerned about are the transmutations and the violence. This is not a movie for children under 13-years-old,” the review reads.

ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS will be featured on Aug. 28.

Movieguide®’s review said, “ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS is joyful, winsome and uplifting, with some amazing visuals. It has a compelling, well-structured story with a strong moral, redemptive worldview that media-wise families will like. The goal is to unite a family and bring forgiveness.”

The summer movie nights come to an end with THE WOLVERINE, which merits discernment for adults because of some violence, implied sexuality and foul language. Still, there are some redemptive elements tucked in the movie.

“Logan does fight evil and is always willing to sacrifice himself for others. This redemptive aspect of heroism aligns with the biblical worldview of standing and fighting for others,” Movieguide®’s review stated.
