As more disgruntled Twitter users vow to leave the app, CEO Elon Musk recently reinstated previously banned accounts like former President Donald Trump and the satire site, BABYLON BEE.
Since Musk’s $44 billion acquisition of the social media app, he has emphasized his focus on free speech.
Musk’s stance on free speech and decision to reinstate several high profile accounts infuriated some users, who quickly announced their exit from Twitter.
Donald Trump, The Babylon Bee, Dr. Jordan Peterson, Kathy Griffin and Project Veritas, were among the suspended accounts that made a return under Musk.
According to a poll, nearly 52% of 15 million users agreed with Musk in allowing Donald Trump back on the platform.
“The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated,” Musk tweeted.

After Elon Musk took over as the CEO of Twitter, many celebrities did not like the immediate changes made to the social media platform and announced a swift exit.
However, not everyone is leaving and the Tesla CEO said that Twitter’s active users are on the rise.
“Twitter feels increasing alive,” he wrote in a tweet on Nov. 13. “Usage of Twitter continues to rise. One thing is for sure: it isn’t boring!” Another one: “Hit all-time high of active users today.”
One of Musk’s central plans prior to the $44 billion acquisition of the company was to eliminate and mitigate the number of fake accounts and “bot” accounts.
This resulted in a new “verification system” and subscription fee of $8 that was the final push for some celebrities to leave the platform.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that Gigi Hadid, Whoopi Goldberg, Stephen Fry, Amber Heard Balenciaga and Alex Winter were among the accounts to leave.
