Nation’s Best College Quarterback Will Rogers: ‘Nothing Would Be Possible Without My Savior’
By Movieguide® Staff
Quarterback for Mississippi State, Will Rogers, has already established himself as the leading passer in college football.
Before he committed to the Bulldogs, he was invited to play at Washington State under Coach Mike Leach.
Through prayer, Rogers said that God used the time of uncertainty and decision-making for His glory.
As it turns out, Leach arrived at the Bulldogs with Rogers, and his decision—guided by prayer—resulted in Roger’s record-breaking passing numbers.
Rogers leads all quarterbacks this season, with 2,110 passing yards on 202 completions.
“It’s awesome,” Rogers said. “It’s a blessing. I’m blessed to be here with these teammates, with this offensive line, with Coach Leach.”
Despite national recognition, Rogers pointed fans to Christ.
“Nothing would be possible without my Savior and my teammates,” Rogers wrote in a Tweet.
Blessed. Amazing coaching staff but nothing would be possible without my Savior and my teammates. On to the next. Dawgs Win Again. #HailState https://t.co/ChXvo4eN9w

“I feel that the good Lord is blessing me to be in the position that I’m in,” he told Mississippi Scoreboard in 2019. “I’m not in this position for my wants or my desires, but I’m in this position to serve Him and expand His Kingdom.”
