NBA Star Jonathan Isaac Announces UNITUS, A Clothing Company Founded on Freedom and Faith
By Movieguide® Contributor
Known for taking a stand, Jonathan Isaac refused to kneel for the national anthem or wear a Black Lives Matter shirt and now Isaac announced his launch for a new clothing line.
Isaac revealed that he will launch UNITUS, a clothing brand focused on freedom and positive values.
Isaac told CBN’s Faithwire, “UNITUS is desperately needed today because more and more brands in the sports and leisure wear space are abandoning the consumers’ desire for them to be impartial on matters of culture, spirituality, and politics. Many brands have overtly endorsed harmful and divisive ideologies that have left consumers looking for alternatives.”
Isaac also said that there is a huge need for a “hopeful brand bolstered by values of faith in Christ, American freedom, and family-building.”
Isaac shared a video on his Instagram announcing the launch of UNITUS.
He captioned the video, “Retail brands have the freedom to go woke. We have the freedom to create an alternative. UNITUS launches August 2023. Stay tuned ?. #WeAreUnitus”
In addition, Isaac stated in a PragerU interview, “We also have a freedom to create what we want to create. The hope is to be able to sign athletes across sports.”
He added, “As the day continues to get darker and darker and crazier and crazier, you standing up for what you believe in is only going to get harder. But is only going to become more necessary.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Isaac’s book, Why I Stand:
Isaac said that sharing your belief with others begins by standing up for those beleifs.
“So much of the book is about being willing and able to stand on what it is that you believe in,” he said. “What I’ve tried my best to do is think about what I’m saying and search myself if I really do believe it. I do, because of the things that I’ve experienced in my own life, and I’ve settled on the fact that I’m going to be willing to stand up and share my opinions the same way that someone else is standing up or kneeling for the national anthem to share theirs.”
“From the Christian perspective, we have all been at a place where we were outside of Christ,” he continued. “Ultimately, the only reason why we’re Christian in the first place is because God loved us first. God came after me. I wasn’t checking for him. Yes, justice is important and people should have to face the consequences of their actions. But I would want if I’m in a situation where my sin is caught on tape and everybody has seen it, I would want mercy in that situation. And so I’m going to give mercy in that situation
“With everything that’s happening right now… there isn’t another answer outside of finding your identity in Christ. That is actually sustainable and worthwhile.”
