NCIS’ 1000th episode is on its way, and the franchise is celebrating the milestone with some special guest appearances.

Daniela Ruah, who played special agent Kensi Blye on NCIS: LOS ANGELS, will make an appearance, as well as actress Vanessa Lachey, who plays special agent Jane Tennant on NCIS: HAWAI’I.

“If I get asked [to play Kensi again], I will certainly figure it out at the time,” Ruah previously told TVLine. “If it makes sense, why not, right?”

Steven D. Binder, a showrunner on the series, shared his thoughts on the upcoming 1000th episode.

“It will be especially enjoyable for people who’ve been there from the very beginning I think,” he told PARADE. “We really wanted to capture the history from episode one on up. There’s going to be a lot of Easter eggs in the show, too, visual Easter eggs, auditory Easter eggs for longtime fans to look around and be like, ‘Oh, there’s whatever.’”

Showrunner David North added, “One of our own beloved characters is going to end up in grave danger, and you’re go to see all of the different franchises brought into this in a little bit of a different way.”

The 1000th episode will air on April 15.

Although Ruah has not been an active cast member recently, she’s been very involved behind the scenes as a director.

In an Instagram post last week, the actress shared, “I’m so excited for you guys to see tonight’s ep of NCIS, directed by meeeee! This cast and crew are nothing short of wonderful. Gotta love the @ncisverse.”

MSN reported that Ruah “helmed the ‘Left Unsaid’ episode of NCIS aired on March 4 and is also set to direct an episode of NCIS: HAWAI’I scheduled for April 15.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Ruah’s thoughts about NCIS: LOS ANGELES ending after 14 seasons:

“’I’m not sad that it’s ending. I think the show has had an amazing, long run, we’ve told phenomenal stories, the characters have grown and matured on the show in front of everyone,’ Ruah told ET. ‘It’s bittersweet… Like, it’s time to move on creatively, but it’s going to be so hard not to be with this family of people, because they are incredible,’ she continued… ‘I’m so grateful to have been a part of that show.’”
