NCIS to Return Feb. 11

CBS recently announced when new seasons of shows like NCIS and FBI will return following the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Deadline reported, “After 118 days of the actors guild being out on strike, SAG-AFTRA and the studios on Wednesday reached a tentative deal on a new contract that could see Hollywood up and running again within weeks.”
Despite the conflict ending, schedules for upcoming shows have still been affected.
“The rollout kicks off immediately after CBS’ Feb. 11 Super Bowl telecast with the premiere of new drama TRACKER…All CBS returning scripted series, including the FBI and NCIS franchises, YOUNG SHELDON and THE NEIGHBORHOOD, will debut their new seasons the week of Feb. 12,” Deadline continued.
“…the strike-impacted seasons will consist of 10-13 episodes running Feb-May, which also is the case at CBS. For instance, THE NEIGHBORHOOD and CSI: VEGAS will do 10 episodes, the FBIs 13. There are two exceptions, including CBS’ flagship comedy YOUNG SHELDON, which will air 14 or 15 episodes (still TBD),” the outlet added.
NCIS star Brian Dietzen, who plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer, shared his excitement for the next season. “Couldn’t be happier! Can’t wait to get back to work!” he wrote on X.
USA Today also explained that even though the strike is over, networks still face challenges as they attempt to return to normal production and broadcasting schedules.
“Starting production again isn’t as simple as the actors showing up to work,” USA Today reported on the end of the actors’ strike. “TV series and movies require a lot of preparation before shooting happens, from scriptwriting to set building and costume design. Once all that preproduction work is done, there will be a scramble to get every show and film back to set at once, which could cause traffic jams at major filming locations and a greater demand for behind-the-scenes crew than can be met.”
Movieguide® previously reported on NCIS season 21:
NCIS has been renewed for Season 21, and here is everything you need to know about the show and its new season…
Fans can expect the next season to pick up by resolving the major cliffhanger Season 20 ended with.
After Agent Torres went undercover as a prison inmate, a man from his past recognized him, and the season ended with the agent pointing his gun at someone.
“Will Season 21 open with him pulling the trigger? It seems that, whoever this guy is, he managed to harm Torres and his family members long ago, to the point Nick is willing to kill him for revenge,” Cinema Blend reported. “Surely an NCIS agent as prestigious as Torres wouldn’t cross that line, would he?”
