Nickelodeon announced their plans to air a special telecast of Super Bowl LVIII that will bring the big game to the youngest viewers.

“We are unbelievably proud to partner with CBS Sports and the NFL to bring Nick’s personality and unique visual sensibility to the Super Bowl,” Brian Robbins, President and CEO, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon; and Chief Content Officer, Movies & Kids & Family, Paramount+, announced in a statement.

Paramount Global’s CBS will air Super Bowl LVIII from Las Vegas, while Nickelodeon’s telecast will combine “the absolute excitement of NFL action with the creativity that can only come from Nickelodeon’s cool POV.”

Filled with on-screen graphics and special guests, the network hopes to appeal to families with children.

But this isn’t the first time the NFL has partnered with Nickelodeon.

“Nickelodeon has already helped the NFL gain new yards. The network has broadcast kids’ versions of Wild Card games, and last year showed a ‘Nickmas’ version of a Christmas Day game that was already airing on CBS,” Variety reported.

“Our previous telecasts on Nickelodeon have been huge hits and created a new and different way to experience an NFL game,” said Hans Schroeder, the NFL’s executive vice president of media distribution.

Variety added, “Paramount Global did not indicate if it planned to sell a different set of commercials around the Nickelodeon telecast or if the broadcast would simply contain the same load of Super Bowl ads that will accompany the show on CBS.”

Super Bowl LVII had 115.1 million viewers all across Fox, Fox Deportes and other streaming platforms. Fox Corp. gained a total of $600 million in advertising revenue.

More updates about the big game will come, but families and kids can get excited for a unique experience of Super Bowl LVIII in 2024.

Movieguide® previously reported on Super Bowl LVII:

Ratings for this year’s Super Bowl hit a six-year high as millions tuned in to watch the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to Deadline, Fox’s TV broadcast of the Super Bowl averaged 113 million viewers, making it the most-watched Super Bowl since 2017.

The viewership total reached 118.7 million when Rihanna took the stage at halftime, making the pop star’s show the most-watched halftime performance since Katy Perry’s in 2015 and the second most-watched halftime show in Super Bowl history.

These numbers are up significantly compared to the 2021 Super Bowl, which drew less than 100 million viewers.
