WATCH: Ohio State Football Teams Kneels in Prayer Before Winning CFP Semifinal
By Movieguide® Contributor
Almost the entire Ohio State Buckeyes football team knelt in prayer after running onto the field ahead of the College Football Playoff semifinal game.
Podcaster Graham Allen posted a video on X showing the Buckeyes running out of the tunnel into the endzone to take a knee.
“This is just so POWERFUL,” he wrote. “Nearly EVERY SINGLE OHIO STATE PLAYER ran out of the tunnel, GOT ON A KNEE, and said a prayer before their victory against Texas…”
Per The Christian Post, “Ohio State ultimately won the game played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Buckeyes will advance to the National Championship, scheduled for Jan. 20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. They will face the University of Notre Dame, which beat Penn State last Thursday.”
Athletes displaying their faith in Jesus is nothing new. Players like Emeka Egbuka, Will Howard and TreVeyon Henderson are just some of the Buckeyes who lead their team spiritually.

Before the Cotton Bowl, Egbuka shared a post on his social media that read, “Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue. See Y’all In Texas, Jesus Loves You.”
Likewise, Howard said in a post on Instagram, “One step closer… Job not finished” and referenced Psalm 118:24, which reads, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
Henderson also shared several photos on his social media, the first displaying him giving thanks to God.
“Thank you, Jesus,” Henderson wrote before quoting 1 Peter 1:8: “You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.”
The stage is set for the College Football National Championship. Ohio State will face Notre Dame on Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
