Ohio State Footballer Breaks Down the Gospel in a Powerful, Relatable Way

Ohio State football tight end, Gee Scott Jr. has become widely known for his faith more than his football performances.

In a new video shared on the Access the Walk Instagram page, Scott used an illustration of how he would explain the gospel to someone who doesn’t believe.

“Imagine you took yourself and you went to an alien planet and these aliens spoke English and you had this conversation with them and I told you–and they don’t have wind up there–’I want you to explain to them, how does wind work,” Scott began to say. “Like what it is? What is wind? And how do you explain how it works? They’re asking you questions like, ‘Do you see it?’ No, I don’t see it. It’s not there. I can’t really see it physically. Well how do you know it’s there? You don’t really know it’s there. The only reason you know it’s there is because you felt it before. You know what it feels like. It’s because you had wind touch your skin so you feel what it’s like. You can’t really explain wind to someone who’s never felt it.

“This is what Jesus was saying to Nicodemus,” the tight end continued. “You guys are trying to understand my spirit and you’re trying to understand the gospel of Jesus Christ and you don’t even know me. I want you to know me first and once you feel me and who I am, you will then receive revelation of what wind is. And so you would tell those aliens, let me take you and bring you down to earth. and they would stand down on earth and they would feel the wind and be like, ‘Whoa, it’s real.’ And so, that’s the way that Jesus explains it. So, that would be my answer to people who don’t believe.”

Aside from his performance on the field, Scott also shares his faith on stage at his local church in Ohio.

In a post he shared on social media, Scott wrote of the opportunity he was given.

“Amazing doesn’t do justice to describe the powerful outpouring of the Lords spirit on all of the Sons and Daughters who joined us this weekend,” Scott wrote. “I am truly encouraged by the faith of my brothers in Christ, who decided publicly, to declare Jesus as their Lord and savior – and be baptized. The Lord Jesus is moving on the hearts of those who call on Him wholeheartedly.”
