Green Bay Packers QB Gives ‘All the Praise, Honor and Glory to God’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Green Bay Packers quarterback Malik Willis is giving all the glory to God.
In a recent interview after a win against his former team, the Tennessee Titans, Willis was asked how he felt about being one of the reasons the Packers triumphed.
“I just gotta give all of the praise, honor and glory to God for giving me another opportunity,” he replied. “To play this game at this level is nothing more than a blessing. And just Him putting me in a position where I could have the help and continue to just work hard and see my way through this thing — taking it day by day — I think it’s just amazing.”
Willis often speaks about how his faith drives everything, telling Nashville’s WKRN he “grew up that way.”
“Grandma [took] me to church and I wasn’t paying attention then, but you kind of grow up and you make it your own and you lean into that,” he said.
Willis continued, “I think [the] Lord put me in this position to glorify him and impact people in a positive way, so I try to do that.”
He also shares messages of faith on social media.
A recent post on X reads, “All the honor, glory, and praise to God for another opportunity to glorify Him. For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Willis’ faith:
Green Bay Packers quarterback Malik Willis filled in for the injured starter Jordan Love on Sunday and led his team to victory.
Per Crosswalk Headlines, Willis “completed 12 of 14 passes for 122 yards and one touchdown and ran for 41 yards in his team’s 16-10 victory over Indianapolis at Green Bay. The Packers evened their record at 1-1.”
After the game, Willis told the media, “It feels awesome. I’ve just got to give all the glory to God for giving me this opportunity.”
When asked if he was proud of his performance, he remained humble.
“I don’t get proud,” he said. “We’ve got a lot to work on, obviously, and we’ve just got to continue to get better and work hard, and we’ll see where Jordan’s at [health-wise] and continue to prepare.”
Willis shared on his X profile after the game, “Thankful for another opportunity to glorify God. TGFE [Thank God for everything].”
