Storied singer Pat Boone just released a song calling out America to return to its sound principles.

“’Where Did America Go?’ expresses a profound longing for a return to the Biblical principles set forth in the Constitution as the whole framework of our American life. Boone’s message is both nostalgic and hopeful, urging fervent study and review of the nation’s past for a clear pathway to a reunited future,” a press release said.

Boone points listeners back to the Constitution as he believes the guidelines it provides, along with Biblical principles, are what America needs to look to right now.

Some of the song’s striking lyrics read:

Can America still rise again?

Find our way back to where we were then?

Yes, that old Family Bible

Still holds our survival

It spells out the way we can win

Yes. It spells out the way we can win

Boone said, “I’m desperately worried for our country. We’re so divided. We’re not one nation under God anymore. People are so condemning of each other that if you hold certain beliefs and others disagree, you must be crooked, crazy and wrong. This song is a warning, an alarm that America is in danger of losing its way. We are so angry with each other that we cannot continue in the direction we need to go because we’re too divided.”

The 90-year-old singer sees a lot of “hate” between political sides and believes America will unwind if this discord continues. He says the release of his song is urgent because people need to hear and understand its message as soon as possible to prevent America’s spiral.

Boone has a lot of hope that Americans can find a way to lessen their hate for each other.

“We can still get the America we have loved and cherished back again,” he said.

“I pray that all Americans can come together and stand united to restore the country that we still love so dearly,” he said on Instagram on July 29.

Movieguide® recently  reported on Boone’s faith throughout his career:

“I was so blessed…This platform was given to me miraculously—and for a reason,” Boone told Christian Headlines. “I sensed it. I knew that God gave me a platform from which I could express my own faith and my own life, my lifestyle, without having to make explanations.”

This confidence led him to work on projects at the height of his career that many people would consider professional suicide. In the late 1950s, Boone released an album of hymns, “Hymns We Love,” which ended up selling over 1 million copies.

“I knew I was having an influence on millions of kids to make sure that that influence—was best I could manage with God’s help—was a good one,” he said.
