Pat Boone Talks Faith and Family Values on the Movieguide® Red Carpet
By Movieguide® Contributor
While on the red carpet before this year’s Movieguide® Awards, Pat Boone talked about his nominated film, THE MULLIGAN, and the importance of the Movieguide® Awards.
Boone, a longtime supporter of the Movieguide® Awards, has attended 29 of the 30 award shows. “I don’t ever want to miss it,” he said.
“God bless Movieguide®,” he added. “The fate of our country depends on the morality of our country, and the film industry today is not doing much to enhance our morality.”
“But Ted Baehr finds the films that [demonstrate] faith values and family values and honors them,” Boone continued. “That encourages them to make more films with faith and family values, and that’s why I say we need them so much.”
This year, Boone played a supporting role in the movie THE MULLIGAN, which is nominated for the Most Inspirational Independent Movie award.
As a golfer himself, Boone was thankful that he could be involved in a movie about a sport that “millions of people play… [but] very few movies [are] about.”
This year’s Movieguide® Awards will air on UPtv on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 9 p.m. EST and 6 p.m. PST.
