Patrick Mahomes Leads Chiefs to Third Super Bowl in a Row: ‘All Glory to God’
By Movieguide® Contributor
For the eighth year in a row, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs found themselves in the AFC Championship, and after Sunday’s 32-29 victory over the Buffalo Bills, the team will head to its third consecutive Super Bowl.
Mahomes knows his and his team’s success can only come from God.
“I want to give all glory to God. Without Him, none of this is possible, and I truly mean that,” the quarterback told the press.
Mahomes also posted on his X account later that evening, writing, “Thank you, God!”

The Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Feb. 9. If the Chiefs were to win, they would claim their fourth Super Bowl title in the past six years.
Every time Mahomes has reached a Super Bowl, he has always spoken about his faith in Christ.
In 202o, Mahomes told Kansas City reporters, “Faith has always been big with me. Obviously, I want to win every game, but I’m glorifying Him every single time I’m out there. As long as I’m doing everything the right way and the way that He would want me to do it, then I can walk off the field with my head held high and be able to be the man that I am.”
Before the 2024 Super Bowl, Mahomes explained, “My Christian faith plays a role in everything that I do. I mean, I always ask God to lead me in the right direction and let me be who I am for His name.”
“I know that I am here for a reason — to glorify Him,” he continued. “It means everything, not only about my football career but all the decisions that I’ve made. I have a faith backing, and I know why I am here. It’s not about winning football games. It’s about glorifying Him. I think it gives me that I have no pressure when I step out on that football field; I know why I am here.”
After last year’s Super Bowl, Mahomes expressed what the win meant to him.
“It means a ton. Just the adversity we dealt with this year and to come through. The guys never faltered,” the quarterback said. “I give God the glory. He challenged us to make us better. I am proud of my guys. They did awesome. Legendary.”
