Emmy-Award Winner Teams Up With THE CHOSEN Because ‘I Love Jesus’

Paul Walter Hauser is joining a new CHOSEN series because he loves Jesus.
The Emmy winner is set to take part in the new animated series, THE CHOSEN ADVENTURES.
Crosswalk reported, “The series is set in biblical Capernaum and follows the story of two children who encounter Christ. Other voices include Yvonne Orji, Jordin Sparks, and the cast of THE CHOSEN.”
A synopsis of the show reads, “THE CHOSEN ADVENTURES is a 14-episode animated series set in Capernaum and follows 9-year-old Abby and her friend Joshua as they meet Jesus around 30 A.D. A plot summary describes Abby as an inquisitive girl who doesn’t ‘have the kinds of answers she’s looking for’ — until she meets Jesus.”
While Hauser’s role in the series drew criticism from some of his fans, he responded with grace, explaining his motivation for joining the project.
“If I can calmly correct you- I did THE CHOSEN animated series because 1) I love Jesus 2) I thought the writing was good 3) I enjoy watching THE CHOSEN 4) I act for money to provide for my family,” he wrote on X.
THE CHOSEN ADVENTURES is one of several new projects by 5&2 Studios, Dallas Jenkins’ new production company.
“5&2 Studios currently has several projects underway: THE CHOSEN ADVENTURES, THE CHOSEN IN THE WILD WITH BEAR GRYLLS, a 3-season series that covers Moses’ story, an 8-episode series for Joseph’s tale and a series that follows THE CHOSEN called ACTS OF THE APOSTLES,” Movieguide® reported.

In a new series, Grylls will take several members of the hit series THE CHOSEN on a wilderness adventure.
“In each episode, Grylls ventures into the wild with one cast member while exploring their personal stories and diving deeper into their own perspectives on the series and the characters they portray,” a synopsis of the show reads.
Titled THE CHOSEN IN THE WILD WITH BEAR GRYLLS, it will feature THE CHOSEN creator Dallas Jenkins, as well as Elizabeth Tabish who plays Mary Magdalene, Paras Patel who plays Matthew, and Luke Dimyan who plays Judas.
“I always feel the real star of it all, to be honest, is the wild,” Grylls said at ChosenCon about the series. “The wild does my job for me. It opens people up. There’s a vulnerability and a connection with people when you adventure with them for a day or so that you’re never going to get on a stage, or on a red carpet, or on a chat show where it’s a performance.”
