Comedian Kevin Hart: “God Basically Told Me To Sit Down” After Car Wreck

By Tess Farrand, Associate Content Editor

Comedian Kevin Hart was in a near-fatal car wreck on September 1, 2019. In a recent Instagram post, Hart shared about God’s hand in it all.

“I swear, life is funny, because some of the craziest things that happen to you end up being the thing that you needed most,” THE UPSIDE actor said.

“In this case, I honestly feel like God basically told me to sit down.”

Hart continued, “When God talks, you gotta listen,” Hart narrates. “After my accident, I see things differently. I see things from a whole new perspective…. I’m thankful for my family and friends.”

Hart shared the full story on an IGTV video. Hart described how his car rolled down an embankment, and two people were cut from their seats in the wreckage.

Hart concludes, “I’m thankful for God… for simply just being here.”

Friends and fans of the comedian commented on the post with support and comments about God.

Tyrese Gibson of BLACK AND BLUE said, “I’m so happy to see that you’re ok…. It’s true God has a way of forcing us to slow down. There are things we will only see and realize from sitting still and pausing…. Go get it bro…. You’re still the King…. Believe it.”

Please continue to pray for Hart as he recovers.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”- Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)
