Iconic TV Host Alex Trebek Shares Cancer Update

Iconic JEOPARDY! Host Alex Trebek is back in chemotherapy for his stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
“I’m hanging in,” Trebek shared in a recent interview. “We’re back on the chemo, and we’ll see if the numbers go down. If they do… they can’t keep doing it forever of course.
“They’ll have to find a new protocol or whatever to administer. We’ll play it by ear and keep chugging along until we either win or lose,” Trebek continued.
Trebek, a staple of evening television for decades, says he’s nearing the end of his life, and he’s not afraid of dying.
Former contestants on the trivia show have praised Trebek’s perseverance.
“It makes him more of a superhero than we already think he is, that he can do anything. He knows everything there is to know about any subject, and he’ll work through this illness,” said Andrew Pau. Pau is an assistant professor of music theory at Oberlin College and recent participant in Jeopardy’s Tournament of Champions.
Steven Oppenheim, an accountant, appeared in two shows earlier this year, and he agreed.
“I was also very impressed with how brave he’s been about it, not trying to hide it at all knowing that being in the public eye, people will be analyzing his appearance and actions trying to see if he is deteriorating,” Oppenheim said.
Please continue to pray for Trebek during this time.
