Prayer Alert: America’s Got Talent Winner Michael Grimm in ICU

2010 AMERICA’S GOT TALENT winner Michael Grimm faces severe health challenges as he combats an unknown illness. His wife just announced that he’s now heavily sedated and under intensive care.
Unwell for several months, the blues-rock singer’s health issues came to a head on Memorial Day. In a recent Instagram video on Grimm’s page, Lucie Zolcerova-Grimm provided an update.
“He was looking increasingly sickly. All of a sudden, he could barely walk, couldn’t lift his head. He couldn’t respond right away to me. When I would ask him things, he would get really fuzzy,” she says. “We ended up taking him to the hospital, to the ER, to the doctors. Still couldn’t figure out what was going on with him.”
The AMERICA’S GOT TALENT season 5 winner amazed American audiences with his impressive voice and calm character.
In 2011, Travis Tritt, a long-time inspiration for Grimm, collaborated with Grimm on his song “Simple Man.” Movieguide® released an article about one of Tritt’s recent performances.
“I grew up listening to Travis Tritt and he’s the reason why I went from country music to soul and rock ‘n’ roll,” Grimm said. “His music kinda taught me that it’s okay to sing all sorts of music, I needed someone to say it’s okay so that I could still keep the country music crowd…It was quite an experience to sing with him.”
Grimm’s wife informs his fans that he lost his voice and will need to have vocal cord repair surgery. But despite the stress from Grimm’s health issues, his wife puts on a brave face and holds onto hope.
“My priority right now is to stand by Michael,” his wife says. She cancelled his June and July 4th shows, but says that she does not want to cancel “anything else moving forward because I’m trying to be hopeful and give him a chance to come back and see where he’s at.” She adds, “He is improving so that is good.”
“Have Michael in your hearts and prayers,” says Grimm’s wife. She appeals to his fans to have patience, as there will likely not be any more updates for a few weeks.
