Public Libraries Block Kirk Cameron From Reading His New Children’s Book

Kirk Cameron’s plans to promote his new faith-based children’s book have been derailed by public libraries’ refusal to let him hold readings.
“As You Grow” is designed for kids under 10 years old and “teaches kids about biblical wisdom and the importance of relying on biblical principles through all seasons of life.”
Cameron and his publisher, Brave Books, have reached out to dozens of public libraries across the country, but have either received rejections or were simply ignored. Many of these same libraries hold LGBT-centered events, like drag queen story time readings and free legal advice for those wishing to change the gender on their official documents.
“This is proof that more than ever, we are getting destroyed in the battle for the hearts and minds of our children,” Cameron said of the libraries’ rejections. “Publicly funded libraries are green-lighting ‘gender marker and name change clinics’ while denying a story time that would involve the reading of a book that teaches biblical wisdom. How much more clear can it get?”
He continued, “We have to start fighting back, or we will lose our kids and this country.”
He and Brave Books announced that, for every purchase made on their website, they will donate a book from their Freedom Island kids’ series to a local library.
“It is devastating to discover that many of our publicly funded libraries have now become indoctrination centers that refuse to allow biblical wisdom to be taught to our children,” said Trent Talbot, founder and CEO of Brave Books.
