Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh gives credit to the Lord after his team won the final game of the season, clinching the top spot in the AFC North and ending the season with a 12-5 record.

“Everyone was going to be for one another and for a greater glory,” Harbaugh said during a postgame interview. “To God be the glory  whatever we accomplish this year.”

Later while in the locker room, the coach gave God glory and then led the team in the Lord’s Prayer.

Harbaugh has been a mainstay in the NFL since he took over as head coach in Baltimore in 2008. Throughout his time in the spotlight, he has shared his faith, often crediting the Lord after major wins and finding solace in his faith after crushing defeats. He puts his identity in Christ rather than football or fame.

“The thing that gives human existence any meaning at all is the fact that we’re created in God’s image and that He loves us and cares about us one hundred percent,” Harbaugh said in Fall 2023. “Before the beginning of time, He had a plan for us, and He created us in a way [that] He knows us intimately.

“I trust Providence; I trust God’s will, His plan,” the coach continued. “And as much as anything, I try to put it in His hands because when you look back, you can see where He has brought you. When you look back, there’s certainty in the road that you’ve traveled, and as I get older now, I can really see that more clearly.”

With their win over the Browns on Sunday, the Ravens secured the number three seed in the AFC, leaving them to face the Steelers on Saturday.
