Russell Brand Loved the Museum of the Bible — Here’s Why

By Movieguide® Contributor

Russell Brand recently visited the Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. and took to Instagram to share his experience.

“The Museum of the Bible is more than a museum – it is an immersive and elucidating experience. In many ways, it felt as if I was partaking in a visceral encounter with God,” he wrote on Instagram along with a carousel of photos from the museum.

Brand has been vocal about his journey to the Christian faith, and fans commented in support.

“Your journey with Jesus has been my favorite thing on this mostly wretched platform,” one user said. Actress Alexa PenaVega chimed in, “One of my favorite places!!!! So glad you got to experience it!!!!”

The actor and cultural commentator loved the experience so much that he joked, “I may not ever leave. This is my address now.”

The Museum of the Bible is a “global, innovative, educational institution whose purpose is to invite all people to engage with the transformative power of the Bible. Through interactive exhibits and cutting-edge technology, we bring guests an immersive, personal experience with the impact, narrative, and history of the Bible. Whether you want to explore the Bible more deeply or are discovering it for the first time, Museum of the Bible has something for you.”

Movieguide® previously reported on how faith has transformed Brand’s life:

Since his salvation, he has felt a strong “sense of peace” over his life.

“When I am in doubt, I feel the instruction there is accessible, and I know what I am supposed to do, and when I don’t do what I am supposed to do, that is even clearer,” Brand said. “When I feel myself being selfish or inconsiderate or putting myself first or not thinking about how I can be better to other people, it is as if there is an inner illumination available to me now.”

Brand then began to describe the Gospel.

“I love the simplicity of the idea of God coming to Earth as a man to experience what it is to be human and to sacrifice himself because that is the only sacrifice that could bring us home, that could give us the opportunity for redemption,” he explained.

Though he’s from England, Brand recently prayed over the upcoming election in the United States, asking God that Americans would find unity through Him.

“I call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, our heavenly Savior,” he prayed. “I pray in your name that the forthcoming election be an opportunity for unity, for America and for Americans, for forgiveness and for grace; that the dark and demonic forces that appear to operate at the level of the state — the deep state and the corporate and global world — experience your light, Lord.”
