Sadie Robertson Huff is celebrating a major milestone for her podcast!
“I am so excited for today’s episode because today is the 300th episode of ‘WHOA That’s Good,’ which is crazy!” she said in a recent episode. “In August, we hit six years of podcasting…so much time has gone into this podcast, and honestly, I’ve loved every single minute of it. I have just absolutely loved podcasting in general. Getting to hear people’s stories, it’s helped me grow so much into who I am as a person.”
Huff said that, even though it’s been years, she “never thought about stopping…because I’ve just loved it so much, and I still have so many dreams for the future of this podcast and [am] so grateful.”
For her 300th episode, she brought mom Korie onto the podcast to interview her.
Korie shared her own story about the impact “WHOA That’s Good” has had on people, telling Huff about the people who have come up to her to share how the podcast has made positive changes in their lives.
“It really is cool how you never know who it’s touching or impacting, and man, those stories never get old because, you know, you see a number of downloads, but you don’t know the people or the names behind that,” Huff replied. “You just pray and you hope that God moved in their life.”
When asked about some of the high points of doing “WHOA That’s Good,” Huff mentioned the records she now has of important moments in her life.
“I would say one of the highs of doing the podcast has been that the past six years of my life have been [a] big six years,” she explained. “I met [husband] Christian at the very beginning of this, and then we got married, and we’ve had Honey and Haven, and to have so much of that time documented on video…I think that’s really special.”
She continued, “I’ve learned so much from this, and I’ve learned so much in such pivotal moments of my life. I think it’s made me a better wife, it’s made me a better mom, it’s made me a better person.”
So, what’s next for Huff and “WHOA That’s Good”?
“I want to take more of [my guests’ stories] with me — just that authenticity of real life stories happening right now,” she said. “I feel like where we’re going to next is having people in the room, doing some kind of live audience…we want to make that an amazing experience and continue building that community around it.”
Huff celebrated the 300th episode in an Instagram post as well, writing, “This podcast has truly shaped who I am… It has shaped the wife that I am, the mom that I am, the friend that I am… it has shaped me in so many ways. I truly feel so grateful that I’ve gotten to have 300 intentional conversations with incredible people.”
“It has grown so much,” she continued. “I have been teary today thinking about how grateful I am to do this. Thank you to all the listeners who have grown alongside of me! Thank you to the guest who have helped us become better people through sharing your life experiences and wisdom. Whoa, it’s been good! Let’s go 300 more!”
Another fun project Huff has coming up? A collaboration with MASTERCHEF winner Whitney Miller’s cookie company, Whitney’s Cookies. A portion of the proceeds from every box of the cookies they created together will go to Camp Ch-Yo-Ca.
“This is such a dream collab,” Huff shared. “We get to eat cinnamon roll cookies and give to one of my favorite places – camp! Camp Ch-Yo-Ca is a Christian youth camp that has been in the family for over 50 years and continues to impact kids year after year with the message of Jesus. It shaped who I am in many ways and I am grateful to give back!”
Movieguide® previously reported on another project Huff recently released:
Sadie Robertson Huff revealed the heart behind her new song “Mirror” which helps listeners combat the lie that their body is unwanted.
“When we sat down to write that day, I said, ‘Let’s try to write out testimony, but in a way that leads other people to their testimony!’ I was not planning on writing based on my own experience that day. I thought I would help tell everyone else’s story — until someone mentioned writing on body image,” Huff said.
“As we started talking about what girls need to hear, I sat there quietly, thinking, ‘That’s actually what I needed to hear,’” she continued. “I opened up to my friends that day about how hard my teenage years were regarding body image and how much that held me back. I remember that, as I was being seen by many, all I wanted to do was hide. I was telling everyone to live original but struggling to do so myself.”
“I’m grateful now to say I don’t feel the need or desire to hide!” Huff proclaimed. “I know our lives are SO much more significant than we look like…our physical beauty is fleeting, but if we are so insecure that all we want to do is hide, how can we fully live what God has for us?”
“I believe that when we can fully embrace how we were made and who we were made to be, there is no limit to the life we can live!” Huff added. “I hope you find freedom past your insecurity as you realize who you were created by and what you were created for!!”
