Sadie Robertson Huff Explains How We Know God is Real: ‘The Word Changed Everything’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Sadie Robertson Huff is sharing a Bible story that has had a profound impact on her.
“God actually could show up and prove [He is real] to you,” she said in a recent sermon. “He could bring a fire from the sky right now, and we’re like, ‘Yep, He’s real.’ He could enlighten our eyes to see the angels around us, and we’d be like, ‘Totally real.’”
Huff then pointed to the story of Josiah, saying, “I just love that, in Josiah’s day, it wasn’t an angel appearing to him, it wasn’t fire falling from the sky — although God has done that, He could do that, He’s perfectly capable and able to — but it was just the discovery of the Word that changed everything. That was all they needed to know.”
“How do I know God is real?” she asked her audience. “Because I know this story, and this story has changed me.”
Huff frequently shares messages of faith on social media, something she says God called her to do. Ten years ago, after gaining a million followers in just one month, Huff said she had a vision where God told her, “I’m not calling you to be famous. But I’m calling you to be a sister and a friend to those who don’t have one.”
She has encouraged other influencers to spread messages of faith and light.
“That doesn’t mean that it all has to be like you, preaching. Or it doesn’t always have to be, like, explicitly as opening up the word and reading it,” Huff explained. “People will know you by the fruit.”
Huff recently celebrated a major milestone with her “WHOA That’s Good” podcast.
“We got to move into the NEW podcast studio space for @whoathatsgoodpodcast and I felt like I was dreaming!” she posted on Instagram. “I just couldn’t let the day go by without a huge shout out to everyone in the Whoa That’s Good fam for making this happen! Without all of your support this would not be able to become what it is. Thank you for listening, sharing, subscribing, downloading and diving in to conversations that make us all better!”
She continued, “The studio is amazing, but the goal of this podcast was never to have a cool studio… it’s not about where it’s recorded – it’s about who is listening on the other side. It’s not about where I am at – it’s about where you are at. I pray before every interview that the conversations we are having would touch you right where YOU are at in life. I’m forever grateful to get to do what I do! I love having good conversations that lead people to finding true hope, joy, and love in Jesus!”
Movieguide® previously reported on Huff’s ministry work:
Sadie Robertson Huff visited a prison to share the Gospel and help dozens of incarcerated women find new life in Christ.
“I believe that God sees you as pure as snow,” Huff said. “So ladies, today, no matter what consequences you’re facing, I believe [that] if you believe you’re forgiven today, the shame will turn into praise. Your mistake might have changed your life, but it does not have to define your life.”
“And so friends, it doesn’t matter what your past looks like, you can literally today be forgiven by the grace of God because of what Jesus has done for you,” she continued. “The Spirit of the Lord, the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, can be alive in you today and you can be a hero of faith; you can.”
“I think some of you are so used to looking in the mirror and just seeing your past mistake, just seeing you sin and seeing your shame, but I want to tell you that when God the Father looks at you, he does not see your sin, he sees his son. He does not see your sin, he sees his forgiveness,” Huff added.
Huff’s message is a powerful reminder that no sin is too great for God to forgive. Just like that father in the story of the prodigal son, God is eagerly waiting to accept us with open arms if we turn back to him, no matter how far we have run.
