Sadie Robertson Huff’s Husband Always Knew He Would Marry Her

DUCK DYNASTY star Sadie Robertson Huff and husband Christian Huff chatted about their story on a recent podcast episode, revealing that Christian said he was going to marry Sadie before he ever met her.
“When I was actually a freshman in high school, I told one of the guys that I was going to marry Sadie,” Christian shared.
“He did not tell me that when we were dating,” Sadie added. “We were a week away from our wedding, and one of his friends texted him. He was like, ‘Dude this is so cool, like, I remember freshman year when you told us on the baseball field you were going to marry her one day, and like you’re literally marrying her.”
Christian never remembered that he said that, so the reminder was a sweet surprise for them both.
“So I was like okay that’s actually really cool,” he said. “Like at this point, this is really one of the first times you came to my family’s house, they had that DUCK DYNASTY cup.”
“Your mom was so embarrassed,” Sadie recalled. “They’re not the people that you would think would have a DUCK DYNASTY cup. Like open their cabinet and everything in their house is so beautiful and there it is, like all the bearded men in my family on a cup.”
Christian’s mom immediately felt embarrassed when Sadie saw it.
“His mom was like, ‘It was a gift. Someone gave that to me,’” Sadie said.
Christian joked, “I don’t think it was a gift. I think she probably bought it.”
Ahead of their wedding several years ago, the Huffs told PEOPLE how they met. After meeting through mutual friends on the beach in 2018, Sadie had an immediate crush. She went home and added Christian on Instagram. When she did, she saw that he had messaged her two years earlier.
She said, “He had messaged me to encourage me about how encouraged he was to see what God was doing in my life and all this stuff. And he ended it with, ‘And I think you’re the most beautiful girl in the world.’ I was like, ‘Whoa! This dude!’ I was like, ‘This is the perfect thing ever.’”
Movieguide® recently reported on what the Huffs believe is important to look for in a spouse:
Christian said to me, ‘Never apologize for what God is doing in your life,’” Sadie said. “I just love that, like it shifted my mind and then the things he said in that conversation were just so good. But he was really just leading me to God and being confident in my relationship with God. So find a man who can lead like that and leads you to Jesus.”
Christian added, “I think someone who is very genuine, someone who’s authentic, someone who does love God more than people.”
Previously, Sadie shared how Christian sweetly stood up for her after a hurtful experience.
“Long story short, I was speaking the other night and sharing a story of a time a guy really hurt me. When I was sharing the story I started to cry because it was the first time i had ever shared this detail of what happened publicly,” she said. “Then all of the sudden two guys in the room started to laugh as I was sharing the story.”
Afterward, Christian found them and confronted them but not with anger or violence.
“Long story short, I was speaking the other night and sharing a story of a time a guy really hurt me. When I was sharing the story I started to cry because it was the first time i had ever shared this detail of what happened publicly,” she wrote. “Then all of the sudden two guys in the room started to laugh as I was sharing the story.”
“This husband of mine took them outside, and no, did not hit them, but called them to be better men. He called them to maturity and to greatness,” she shared proudly.
