Saints’ Demario Davis Praises God for Daughter’s Cancer Healing

New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis is praising God after his baby daughter Carly-Faith was completely healed of cancer.
“We always want to turn adversity into something positive,” Davis said. “And that’s what we want to do is use our platform to bring more awareness. Carly-Faith, she’s doing amazing, 100% healthy, and just praising God for that.”
Carly-Faith was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer about five months ago. Earlier in November, doctors conducted a blood test for a genetic form of retinoblastoma and a tumor tissue test. Both were negative.
“She’s not at risk for any other cancers. She’s officially fully cancer-free,” Davis’ wife, Tamela Gill Davis, told NOLA.com.
Tamela said Carly-Faith will no longer undergo procedures where she’s placed under anesthesia, nor does she need any more MRIs.
“We’re excited, grateful, and just at peace,” Tamela said.
Carly-Faith is only 1 year old.
On her first birthday in July, Davis wrote, “I can already sense the amount of extra faith God has placed inside your spirit. You will be a world changer in many facets. I can’t wait to watch you grow into all your gifts. Your mom and I will be proud of you no matter what you do or where you go. It’s our honor and privilege to be your parents and to have the opportunity to shepherd you. I love you babygirl.”
