SEAL TEAM star David Boreanaz shared a glimpse into how he’s recognizing Lent this year.

“Halfway through lent,” he wrote in an Instagram Story accompanied by a photo of St. Bernardine of Siena Catholic Community in Los Angeles, California.

The BONES star then posted John 9:1-12, which is the story of Jesus healing a man born blind.

The verses read:

As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes.“Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing. His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, “Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?” Some claimed that he was. Others said, “No, he only looks like him.” But he himself insisted, “I am the man.”

“How then were your eyes opened?” they asked. He replied, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.” “Where is this man?” they asked him. “I don’t know,” he said.

In 2022, Boreanaz shared about a very intimate moment he had in the Middle East while filming SEAL TEAM.

“Our storyline took us to the Middle East this year, and I think it’s really special to show these types of shows and see what’s going on in those worlds, you know, and what these guys have to deal with,” he said on the RACHEL RAY SHOW.

A picture of Boreanaz in a river was shown during the interview.

“I renewed my baptism,” he explained. “That was the shot you just saw of me at the Jordan River. I had an opportunity to go out. That was a very extraordinary experience. I did that on the one day that I had off, and I went where Jesus got baptized, and I was like, all right, I’m gonna go. I’m going to go renew my baptism, and I was able to do that,” the actor said.

Boreanaz called that experience “very empowering” and “very emotional.”

“It was a great experience shooting in Jordan. It was very biblical in a lot of areas that we were shooting. We were shooting in the desert. It was just very remarkable,” he added.

Although Boreanaz is open about his Catholic faith, he is also open to the use of crystals and different energies, which are not biblical.

The Bible tells us in John 14:6 that Jesus alone is “the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Jesus is the only way to the Father. No amount of energy, crystals, zodiac signs or stars aligning can get someone to God; only Jesus can do that for us.
