SEAL TEAM to End After ‘Exciting And Satisfying’ Season 7
By Movieguide® Contributor
SEAL TEAM is coming to an end following its seventh season.
“When we first heard the pitch for SEAL TEAM almost seven years ago, I was struck by the producers’ genuine passion to tell authentic stories that honored and celebrated the sacrifice of veterans and all those who serve our country,” CBS Studios president David Stapf said in a statement.
He continued, “Since that first meeting, they have not wavered in that mission. The characters, storylines and cast performances have continued to be both nuanced and powerful. We are looking forward to an exciting and satisfying seventh and final season.”
SEAL TEAM premiered in 2017, running for four seasons on CBS before moving to Paramount+.
Movieguide® nominated SEAL TEAM episode 3:15: RULES OF ENGAGEMENT for the 2021 Faith & Freedom Award® For Television and Streaming. A portion of its review reads:
“Rules of Engagement” is a dramatic, thrilling, patriotic SEAL TEAM episode. It honors the service and sacrifice American soldiers make while serving their country and making the world a safer place. The episode opposes the chaos and evil that bad groups like Radical Muslim Terrorists, Russia and Communist China spread overseas.
The final season is expected to premiere on the streaming platform sometime in 2024. Production will begin this December.
Star David Boreanaz also released a statement about SEAL TEAM’s end, saying, “For six seasons I have been fortunate and blessed to be a part of an outstanding cast and crew. Every day spent was a note of thanks to our men and women in the military and Special OPS. I thank our fans, and I’m proud we were able to make this show to shine light in the darkness toward so many suffering today.”
“The daily grind and complex mental approach to such a character [as Jason Hayes] has allowed me to fully understand and appreciate the sacrifices these men and women take on,” he added on Instagram.
“I look forward to season seven and the opportunity to end this series with love and gratitude,” he concluded.
Variety reported that, as part of SEAL TEAM’s finale, “Paramount+ will be taking the show on the road and partnering with organizations that benefit US veterans. Further details will be provided at a later date.”
Movieguide® previously reported on SEAL TEAM’s Season 7 renewal:
Paramount+ recently announced that SEAL TEAM will return for its seventh season exclusively on the streaming platform.
“We look forward to bringing SEAL TEAM fans even more of the series’ poignant storylines and thrilling missions with the upcoming seventh season,” Paramount Streaming chief programming officer Tanya Giles said.
“The series continues to evolve and grow its audience. It is a great example of the types of programming that we see resonate with our subscribers,” she added.
