Seventh city is a legendary city of gold buried deep in the far north. 13-year-old Maki considers the Seventh City to be a myth. Then, however, cruel invaders from the south come and burn her village, capturing her brother, Tsanu. She dresses as a boy to join the invaders in the hope she can rescue Tsanu. Of course, all the village survivors have told her not to do this.
The invaders are looking for the city of gold and have appointed Tsanu as their guide. Throughout the book, wonderful, heartfelt adventures occur as they push further and further north into forbidden territory to find the Seventh City. Maki’s wit, wisdom and true kindness help her overcome the forces of evil and even win some to the light.
SEVENTH CITY by Emily Hayse is beautifully written, very compelling and wonderful reading. Emily has a lively writing style and creates vivid characters. Her fantasy novels have captured a strong following on Amazon.
