Is Your Favorite Show Topping Streaming Charts?
By Movieguide® Contributor
Streaming numbers show that audiences keep going back to older network shows, from LOST to GREY’S ANATOMY.
“Viewing of LOST on Hulu and Netflix hit a high that week, finishing first among all acquired series with 1.03 billion minutes of viewing time in the United States, according to Nielsen,” the Hollywood Reporter noted, referring to the week of Oct. 21-27.
LOST was recently added to Hulu and Netflix, and new viewers are just as invested in the show’s mystery as the original audience was.
USA Today wrote about the show’s legacy, saying, “The pilot [episode] expertly hooked audiences by presenting not just one central mystery, but tons of them, establishing what the series would continue.”
“As the show progressed, the dizzying number of questions asked of the viewer made it a water cooler show unlike any before it,” they continued. “Compared to the time of earlier serialized mystery shows…a majority of Americans now had home computers, and the water cooler was expanding beyond your office and circle of friends to encompass the entire planet.”
Topping the charts, however, is the third season of Netflix’s original show THE LINCOLN LAWYER. The popular legal drama held the No. 1 spot on the most-streamed list for the second week in a row.
“THE LINCOLN LAWYER isn’t just a Netflix hit; it’s a certified TV hit,” The Wrap reported. “The legal drama from David E. Kelley garnered 1.6 billion minutes viewed on Nielsen’s Top Streaming list for the week that spanned Oct. 14 to 20. Considering the fact that Season 3 of the Manuel Garcia-Rulfo-starring series premiered midway through that week on Oct. 17, those numbers are especially impressive.”

Rounding out the list was BOB’S BURGERS in third place (895 million views), LOVE IS BLIND, (866 million) and GREY’S ANATOMY (845 million).
GREY’S ANATOMY is currently airing its 21st season, and it remains popular as a bingeable watch for Gen Z and Millenials alike.
Family-friendly shows also made the list, with BLUEY in seventh place (767 million) and SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS coming in tenth (610 million).
BLUEY is one of the most popular kids’ shows airing today, and it frequently tops the list of most-streamed shows.
