‘Just So Happy’: WHEN CALLS THE HEART Stars Found Love On Set

WHEN CALLS THE HEART fans love the show’s on-screen romances, but did you know two co-stars found love in real life on the set?

Kevin McGarry (Nathan Grant) and Kayla Wallace (Fiona Miller) met while working on the sixth season of WHEN CALLS THE HEART in 2019. It’s unknown when exactly the pair started dating, but McGarry confirmed their relationship with a 2020 Instagram post.

“Photo evidence,” he captioned a shot of two coffee mugs and a stack of Polaroid pictures of the couple.

McGarry and Wallace worked together again in 2022 on Hallmark’s FEELING BUTTERFLIES and MY GROWN-UP CHRISTMAS LIST.

It’s unknown when the couple plans to tie the knot, but both McGarry and Wallace have talked about their wedding plans.

“I bought a dress, so there’s that,” Wallace told Entertainment Tonight. “[We’re] just waiting to find a date that works with our schedules.”

She shared that life feels “somehow more magical than before,” adding, “We’re just so happy and we’re just enjoying this time right now together.”

Meanwhile, McGarry said the wedding will be “whatever Kayla wants,” adding that there might be some WHEN CALLS THE HEART co-stars at the ceremony.

“It’s going to be intimate, but I know there will be a couple of familiar faces there,” the actor shared.

McGarry is currently promoting the eleventh season of WHEN CALLS THE HEART. Movieguide® previously reported:

WHEN CALLS THE HEART actress Erin Krakow recently spoke to TV Insider about the show’s Season 11 premiere, hinting at her character’s romantic future.

TV Insider reported, “Season 10 ended with Elizabeth at her late husband’s grave, and her words did imply that she saw Lucas as the ‘safe’ option, as someone whose loss wouldn’t affect her like Jack’s did.”

The actress went on to explain that Elizabeth’s love for Jack didn’t diminish her relationship with Lucas, but she realized that they weren’t meant to be.

“I don’t think she was even aware of it when she made the decision to choose Lucas, that she was, you know, call it ‘choosing safe love over great love,’ but there was this very slow awakening to the fact that they weren’t meant to be,” she said.

Actor Kevin McGarry, who plays Nathan, previously shared his thoughts on his character and Elizabeth’s relationship.

“I really feel like [Nathan] not finding a place, him not finding a partner, was deliberate. He was meant to kind of just wonder, while she was kind of moving forward with Lucas [Elizabeth’s Season 10 love interest]. I think it was always meant to be this and that they were meant to be endgame. And I really like how it’s been done,” he said
