‘Stay Prayed Up’: Mark Wahlberg, Jonathan Roumie Share a Laugh
By Movieguide® Contributor
Actors Mark Wahlberg and Jonathan Roumie shared a laugh when Roumie stole Wahlberg’s favorite faith-filled catchphrase.
“Happy Sunday, everybody. Stay prayed up. God bless,” Roumie said to Wahlberg’s surprise, adding, “That’s your line.”
“Wow. Wow, wow, wow,” Wahlberg responded, flabbergasted that Roumie knew his catchphrase. “See what happens when you stay prayed up. Wow.”
Wahlberg often shares his faith on social media, making his daily commitments to God known through things like his schedule and projects. He shares a short video on most Sundays, encouraging his fans to “stay prayed up” and spend time with God.
For those who struggle to be still and find time with the Lord, he encourages them to use the Hallow prayer app. Both Wahlberg and Roumie are partners with the app.
Roumie has led multiple prayers and meditations on the app, with his most recent being a series for Advent. Along with Liam Neeson and Sr. Miriam James Heidland, Roumie is leading an Advent series based on the meditations and works of C.S. Lewis.
The series brings users through the three comings of Christ: “personally into each of our hearts, His Second Coming at the end of time, and as an infant in Bethlehem.” The series began on the first Sunday of December, the beginning of Advent, and runs through Christmas Eve.
“It’s always been a dream of ours to do a challenge with C.S. Lewis’ incredible writings,” said Alex Jones, co-founder and CEO of Hallow. “They changed my own life, and we’re honored to be able to pray through them this Advent. We believe that prayer is transformative, and we are blessed to have partners like Liam Neeson and Jonathan Roumie to help folks prepare their hearts for Jesus.
