Stephen Baldwin recently shared how he baptized his mother, Carol, shortly before her death on May 26, at the age of 92.
“August 4th, 2014, this was the day I knew for sure I would never have to worry about my mom again,” Baldwin captioned a photo of his mother’s baptism. “Day before, mom requested from my wife to be baptized…so we did, in the beautiful Skaneateles lake Syracuse New York.”
“When my mom made this request, I told my wife, ‘No worries we’ll do it on our next trip,’” he continued. “But Kenya said, ‘No my love we will baptize her tomorrow.’”
Baldwin thanked God for his wife’s insistence that the baptism happen the next day, and for his mother’s influence in his life.
“I might not have found Jesus without your loving example of humility grace & unconditional !!!” Baldwin continued. “grateful to God that I will see you again.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Baldwin’s faith:
Christian actor Stephen Baldwin shared how his relationship with Christ gave him true satisfaction.
“My life before Christ was focused on making money,” the 54-year-old actor said in his “I Am Second video. “My life before Christ was a totally day-in and day-out existence that was–unbeknownst to me at the time–an existence of self-absorbance.
“[I was] just doing what you normally do when you’re trying to maintain a career in the movie business,” Baldwin added.
The star recalls that his outlook on his career in Hollywood and movies changed when he put his faith in God.
“Loving Jesus is what’s most important to me. I know that sounds hokey, but it’s the truth. My life is God’s life in me, for Him to do with what He wants,” Baldwin said. He went from appearing in movies like THE USUAL SUSPECTS to the Movieguide® Award-winning movie THE LEAST OF THESE: THE GRAHAM STAINES STORY.
