Actor, producer and Movieguide® Awards presenter Stephen Baldwin is “staying positive” after his daughter, Hailey Bieber, said she’s not close with her family.
“I’m not super close with my family at this point in my life because I feel like I’m very independent,” Hailey Baldwin said in an interview published July 23. “I’m my own individual now, and I’ve built my own family. But when I look back on my childhood and how I grew up, I have very fond, beautiful memories.”
“Obviously, I come from the family that I come from, and I always recognized that that was different,” she said.
In a video the next day, Stephen simply looked into the camera and said, “I love you.”
“Today, staying positive is a choice !! so I’m trusting in the power of joy, peace, and happiness. Finally if anyone hasn’t told you today, 😘 I LOVE YOU ❤️🔥” he said in the caption.
The family rift allegedly started in early 2024 when Hailey and her husband, Justin Bieber, were upset with Stephen for revealing too much about a private family matter on social media.
Stephen has often shown his love and concern for his daughter on social media.
In 2022, Hailey had a blood clot in her brain, and Stephen thanked his social media followers for their prayers. Movieguide® reported:
“Thank you so much for all the prayers for the wonderful Hailey,” he wrote in a post on Instagram. “GOD BLESS TO YOU ALL !!!”
“Been on my knees before my God as much as possible,” he added. “Every day He is my father… love Him so much as always, He’s a good father.”
Hailey announced in May that she and Justin are expecting their first baby.
About her pregnancy, she said, “I was honestly able to keep it quiet because I stayed small for a long time. I didn’t have a belly, really, until I was six months pregnant, which was when I announced it. I was able to wear big jackets and stuff.”
“I probably could have hid it until the end,” she said. “But I didn’t enjoy the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly. I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and it didn’t feel good. I wanted the freedom to go out and live my life.”
