BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT star Susan Boyle recently revealed her excitement to perform on stage after suffering a major stroke.
The singer rose to fame on the talent show after performing “I Dreamed A Dream” from the hit musical LES MISERABLES.
Boyle recently returned to the BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT stage, where she sang “I Dreamed A Dream” alongside the cast of the West End production of the show.
The singer said it was “great” to be back, adding, “It’s extra special for me, actually. Because last April there, I suffered a major stroke.”
“I fought like crazy to get back on stage,” she went on. “And I have done it.”
The audience and the show’s judges cheered the good news.
Simon Cowell, the show’s creator, called Boyle “unbelievable” and said the show “owe[s] her so much.”
“If anyone was gonna come back, you were gonna come back because we wouldn’t be the same without you. You are amazing,” he said.
Boyle spoke about her stroke further in an Instagram post, writing, “This evening was even more special for me as in April of 2022 I had a stroke. For the past year I have worked so hard to get my speech and singing back, with the sole aim of being able to sing on stage again & tonight my hard work & perseverance paid off, singing the song that started it all, ‘I Dreamed A Dream.’”
