Sylvester Stallone Explains This AI Movie Trailer: ‘Not to Be Taken Seriously’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Sylvester Stallone is warning fans that THE GODFATHER PART 4 is not happening.

A fan-made trailer for the hypothetical movie, made with AI, recently went viral.

“What is going on? Lol this is definitely not to be taken seriously!” Stallone wrote on Instagram. He shared photos from the trailer, one of him smoking a cigar and the second holding a gun.

The creator of the video said, “Please note that this video is a concept trailer created solely for artistic and entertainment purposes. I have meticulously incorporated various effects, sound design, AI technologies, movie analytics, and other elements to bring my vision to life.”

Stallone previously asked Paramount if he could be an extra in THE GODFATHER.

“I went to Paramount, and said, ‘Can I be an extra in the wedding scene?,” he said in 2022.

“They said, ‘Yeah, we don’t know if you’re the type of guy.’ I go, ‘I’m not the type? To play in the background, hiding behind a ******** wedding cake?’”

Stallone had also auditioned for THE GODFATHER roles Paulie Gatto and Carlo Rizzi.

“I’ve always wanted to play a gangster,” the actor said, evoking the spirit of Henry Hill in GOODFELLAS. “Don’t ask me why, but there’s a romanticism about these kinds of characters.”

Stallone recently starred in TULSA KING in a role that fulfilled a long-time wish for him.

“I’ve always wanted to play a gangster,” he said. “Don’t ask me why, but there’s a romanticism about these kinds of characters.”

He told Empire, “Finally I get my gangster shot 50 years later, and that’s perfect.”

But “50” years is a bit of a stretch. Stallone actually had another “gangster shot” in 1991’s OSCAR, a comedic mob flick.

President Donald Trump recently appointed Stallone as one of his Hollywood ambassadors alongside Mel Gibson and Jon Voight.

“It is my honor to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California,” Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform last week. “They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries. These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!”
