Teddi Mellencamp Celebrates Being Melanoma-Free: ‘Forever Grateful’

REAL HOUSEWIVES star Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave is melanoma-free.

“I got the final report back from my oncologist,” she wrote on Instagram. “‘Final report is all good. Some atypical areas, but no melanoma. We’ll have to keep a close watch on you, but all good now. I’ll want to see you in about 3 months. Sooner if you have any concerns.’”

Mellencamp wrote that she is “forever grateful to my incredible doctors, nurses, family and friends,” adding that she will be “diligent” with checkups and urged others to do the same.

The reality star has been keeping fans updated on her skin cancer battle through social media.

A recent post saw her sharing her experience getting surgery, a “wide excision melanoma, soft tissue defect reconstruction with adjacent tissue rearrangement.”

“The outpouring of love and prayers in the comments and DMs has left me speechless (which is tough),” Mellencamp said. “I wish I could respond to everyone but please know I am forever grateful. Please get your skin checked. I promise you do not want to go through this.”

Mellencamp initially revealed her melanoma diagnosis in a September Instagram post.

“I have been debating whether I should even publicly talk about this or not but then I remember how every time I post about skin cancer someone else is reminded to get checked,” she wrote. “I found out late yesterday afternoon that the most recent spot biopsied is another melanoma. I can’t even remember if this is the 12th or 13th one.”

She continued, “I am so grateful for my 3-month checkup because we caught this one early. This means another surgery next week and additional biopsies. As I lay here with tears in my eyes and worry, I know my kids will be up soon. I have a podcast at 10. Life goes on. I am also reminded of my faith and the reminder I keep telling myself, ‘We can do hard things.’ We have so many beautiful things to look forward to, so if you woke up today feeling lost or scared, I encourage you to make a list of some of the things you are truly grateful for and what you are most excited about.”

Movieguide® previously reported on how she has handled her skin cancer diagnosis:

Reality TV star Teddi Mellencamp recently updated fans on her melanoma diagnosis after surgeons postponed a removal surgery.

Despite what many would call a setback, Mellencamp said she relies on her faith and support from friends and family.

“I have faith and lots of support from friends, family, doctors and surgeons that all will be ok,” she wrote in a recent Instagram post.

“Something in me is making me want to continue to share this personal information because I want to continue to reiterate the importance of getting your skin checks,” she added.
