Texas Rangers Rookie Josh Jung Wants To ‘Spread The Word Of God’

Texas Rangers player Josh Jung has been named American League Rookie of the Month, and the baseball star is giving all the glory to God.
Jung has scored 30 hits and eight home runs so far this season, which has helped to put the Rangers in first place in the AL West.
The baseball player is quick to emphasize that his ultimate desire isn’t to make himself a star, but to praise God for what he’s done in Jung’s life.
“Sports aren’t gonna last forever,” Jung explained. “Being a baseball player is not gonna last forever, and eventually your name will fade away. When all that’s over, where is your identity gonna be? Who are you gonna be?”
Jung “gave [his] life to Christ” during his freshman year of high school and said that his freshman year of college was when he “took that step of a personal journey with Him” and started sharing his story of faith with others.
“People will watch how you do things and your character is always at play,” he continued. “It’s easy to follow [Christ] when everything is going great. It’s hard when things are rough. But for me, that’s a time to take a step back and be like, ‘OK, what is God trying to tell me about myself in this season or in this storm, and how can I become better on the other side of it?’”
“God has equipped us and gives us strength to go out into the world and spread the Good News, to spread the Word of God,” Jung concluded.
