THE CHOSEN Crew Built Bible Verses Into Show’s Sets

A crew member for THE CHOSEN recently revealed that scripture is literally built into the show’s sets.
B.J. Forman, the art department coordinator, shared that, after completing different set pieces, he gave crew members markers and asked them to write Bible verses and other encouraging messages on parts of the sets.
The messages include things like “Jesus is always the answer!” and “Hurry up and pray! Don’t wait.”
This on-set secret was part of THE CHOSEN’s fourth season, which just finished production.
“I actually think that this is going to be the most impactful season we’ve ever done, emotionally and spiritually,” creator and director Dallas Jenkins said, adding that there’s a possibility all new episodes will be released in theaters.
Star Jonathan Roumie also gave his thoughts on the upcoming season, telling CBN he’s “ready to be on a break…it’s been quite a ride this season.”
The actor revealed that the fourth season of THE CHOSEN was the hardest for him to act “hands down.”

THE CHOSEN resumed production for season 4 after receiving an exemption from the SAG, and wrapped filming on August 1.
Like every other scripted production, THE CHOSEN was forced to stop filming when the actors’ strike began on July 14. However, because the production is fully independent, it quickly received an exemption and became the first TV show able to continue production.
“Everyone’s thrilled to be at work … everyone was eager to finish,” creator and director, Dallas Jenkins told Religion News Service. “We were already done filming Episodes 1-4, so these last two weeks allow[ed] us to complete Episodes 5-8.”
“Some of the most impactful moments come in what we’re now filming, so I’m glad we didn’t have to delay it!” he added.
