New Streamer The Network Promises ‘Always Original, Always Free’ Content

While the number of streaming platforms continues to grow, subscription costs continue to rise.
However, a new streamer called The Network promises that there will be no cost to watch its content.
Per TV Insider, The Network is “an ad-supported premium streaming platform, officially launched on Tuesday, April 30. It ‘seeks to declutter the streaming experience, eliminating audiences’ endless scrolling to find appealing series and films” and is ‘built on the principle ‘Always Originals, Always Free.'”
The Network plans to only release two TV series at a time.
“We release only original series – With Drama Tuesdays and Comedy Thursdays, there’s a premium show for everyone,” a description of The Network reads. “We believe premium content doesn’t have to cost our subscribers a penny. And we also believe that you shouldn’t have to waste your time searching for content – That’s why we release two shows at a time, and nothing else!”
“The Network is providing a solution for consumers that feel overwhelmed by the excess of unnecessary content,” Aram Rappaport, who created the platform, said. “The service is an opportunity to bring a curated catalog to U.S. audiences who want to eliminate the scrolling fatigue of subscription services. We are not justifying monthly fees by holding droves of content consumers get lost in. In fact, we never want you to search our platform, let us come to you. When there’s a new show launching – we’ll let you know.”
The two shows that were unveiled since the launch of the platform are THE GREEN VEIL and CHIVALRY.
THE GREEN VEIL is set in the 1950s and “centers around John Leguizamo as Gordon Rogers, an immigrant who comes to the United States sold on the American Dream. Taking on the role of a government agent, he is put on a mission that leads to a myriad of secrets being uncovered.”
CHIVALRY is about “a successful producer and a woke writer and director are brought closer by a creeping attraction and a feeling that they are just pawns in the studio’s agenda for a Saudi Arabian buyout.”

Movieguide® previously reported on the rising streaming service subscription costs:
The business strategy for streamers has significantly shifted in the last year. While these platforms now fight to make a profit, consumers have noticed the constant price hikes.
The average cost for streaming services rose by 23% last year. Nearly every streaming platform raised its monthly subscription cost by three or more dollars, a change that has many consumers reconsidering their subscriptions.
Last November, Disney+ received massive backlash after announcing a price hike, and “Cancel Disney Plus” trended across social media as millions of Americans realized the service may not be worth the price. While not every platform has faced significant backlash, the rising costs are beginning to weigh on consumers.
