The Angel Studios hit animated children’s TV series, THE WINGFEATHER SAGA, shares an update for season 3.
THE WINGFEATHER SAGA is based on Andrew Peterson’s best-selling books and has since been adapted into an animated TV series.
“A series of four fantasy-adventure novels written by Andrew Peterson about the three Igiby children, Janner, Kalmar, and Leeli. They live in a world called Aerwiar (which is exactly like our world, except they don’t have electricity or gunpowder), and there are all sorts of creepy animals (like sea dragons and toothy cows). The children are about to discover that the ordinary little town where they live is anything but ordinary. In fact, the family is at the center of a great mystery that will change their lives—and their world—forever,” a description of the book series reads.
As season two is now available to the public on DVD and Blu-Ray, THE WINGFEATHER SAGA creators are ready to jump into season 3.
“We’re so excited to take fans into season three next year. The family will find a place that becomes a sort of safe haven, but there are new dangers waiting for them. It’s a storyline that will change the family and the series in big ways,” show runner Chris Wall told The Christian Post while at the 2024 GMA Dove Awards.
“Season three will go further into the world and explore darker themes. Fans who have read the books know that the story gets deeper and more intricate. We’re just scratching the surface,” Wall added.
While at the awards show, THE WINGFEATHER SAGA was nominated for Television Series of the Year.
Although they didn’t win, fellow showrunnner Brock Starnes said, “Last year, being here with season one was a shock — it felt like such a celebration for our fans who love the series. Now, with season two, it’s just awesome to be here again. I meet more and more people who are just discovering the books or the show.”
The favorite part of the show for Wall is that “families, especially those who homeschool, who say they relate to the Wingfeather family because it feels so similar to their own. They see a family that not only loves each other but also genuinely likes each other.”
“Kids watch the show, and then they go off and play as the characters. They’re acting out these adventures and connecting with the world we’ve built,” Starnes echoed.
