‘There’s No Quit In Toby’ Keith As He Battles Stomach Cancer

Country star Toby Keith is ready to start playing shows again following some encouraging news about his recent stomach cancer diagnosis.
“There’s no quit in Toby,” one insider said, while another source added, “It’s been a hellish ordeal, and he’s had several setbacks along the way, but there’s no quit in Toby. He doesn’t believe it’s his time yet.”
The singer is still undergoing chemotherapy, but a source says his blood test results are improving and his tumor has shrunk by a third.
This good news has Keith more than ready to get back on the road and start playing shows.
Keith spoke about his desire to get back on stage, saying, “I’m feeling pretty good. I’m thinking about bringing the band in and setting up, playing two or three days somewhere, just to see if I can get through two hours. All I gotta do is see if I can get through two or three nights of work and get a little break in this chemo, and we’ll go back to work.”
He made good on that promise with two recent shows at Hollywood Corners, an Oklahoma bar and music venue Keith owns. These were the country singer’s first shows since his 2022 diagnosis.
Keith’s team posted about the shows on his Instagram, writing, “It felt so right, Toby had to do it twice. Two nights in a row at @hollywoodcorners. Nights to remember! Toby’s back!”

Keith revealed his diagnosis on social media last year.
“Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax,” he wrote. “I am looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait.”
