THE UNBREAKABLE BOY is coming to digital streaming!
“When his parents, Scott (Zachary Levi) and Teresa (Meghann Fahy), learn that Austin is both autistic and has brittle bone disease, they initially worry for their son’s future,” a description of the movie reads. “But with Scott’s growing faith and Austin’s incredible spirit, they become ‘unbreakable,’ finding joy, gratitude, and courage even in the most trying times — an extraordinary true story about a father and son learning together that every day can be the best day of your life!”
Released Feb. 21, THE UNBREAKABLE BOY is expected to be available to stream at home on April 4, according to Forbes. However, that date has not yet been confirmed and is subject to change.
THE UNBREAKABLE BOY will be available to rent and purchase on AppleTV and Fandango and is already available for pre-order on Prime Video.
The movie was a success in theaters, making over $6 million at the worldwide box office in just three weeks, per BoxOfficeMojo.
THE UNBREAKABLE BOY is a heartwarming true story with a wonderful script and excellent performances. The movie has a strong Christian, uplifting worldview. It stresses family, kindness, faith, forgiveness, prayer, attending church, and redemption. However, there are many scenes involving alcohol abuse because the father struggles with stress and alcohol. UNBREAKABLE BOY also has some light foul language and a brief violent scene. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for older children.

Levi recently spoke to CBN about what drew him to the role, saying that he could “relate to so much of it.”
“I’ve gotten lost in darkness plenty of times in my life. I’ve gotten lost in not loving myself. I only learned 7 and a half years ago that I didn’t love myself. For 37 years of my life, I was unaware of what that concept even meant,” he shared. “And fortunately, I had a breakdown that led me to lifesaving therapy. And then that really opened my eyes to a lot of things that I needed to work on in my life, specifically starting with loving myself. And so, I was able to apply so much of that to what Scott’s journey was in this film.”
Levi continued, “I think that I see all of us and everyone [in the movie], not that we don’t all have our individual journeys and paths, and obviously we all have our differences clearly. And I think that’s part of the beauty of life, that God creates us all to be unique and individual.”
In an interview with The Oklahoman, the actor shared, “I love that it’s a true story. I think true stories resonate with people just that much more…This is, I think, a very perfect time for a film like this to come to the audiences that are going to find it and be touched by it.”

Producer Kevin Downes spoke to Movieguide® about Levi’s performance, saying the SHAZAM! actor gives his “best performance.”
“I’m so proud of him…I went into it like two times ago. I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m gonna see if I cannot like Zach in his performance.’ And I failed. I literally failed,” he said. “That stinker had me crying once again, and he’s just so good at it.”
